My training is Psychodynamic but with many years of CPD (continuing professional development) I will adapt my style to what will be most helpful to you and what you bring to the sessions.
Psychodynamic therapy involves working with the unconscious. The therapeutic relationship offers a safe space to draw what was previously unconscious to consciousness. An example of this might be repeating similar destructive patterns in all manner of relationships and the reasons for this may be rooted in early attachment patterns established in childhood.
The therapeutic relationship can help make a little more sense of why this keeps happening and once there is knowledge and understanding, it can become less compulsive and become a catalyst for change.
Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes.
Initially I offer a 20 minute conversation on the telephone for which there is no charge.
My fee for 50 minute therapy sessions is £80 per session.
I have facilitated numerous training sessions on topics such as loss and bereavement, managing anxiety and stress, exam stress, suicide awareness, managing transitions, transition to University, managing emotions and numerous parenting courses and workshops on a variety of topics.
